Roads with Trees

How often do you see a street where they worked around the trees instead of cutting them down.

Mars Bar

You don't expect to run into R2D2 having a drink at the bar, not even at "The Mars Bar"

Juxtapoz Art Show

Juxtapoz is having a benefit art show towards the end of the year but we're starting to get artwork now. First out of the gate was Craig Stecyk. I really like the packaging, can't wait to see what's inside.

Obama Gas Station

Shepard Fairey posted this and many other pieces around town while his art show was up at The Shooting Gallery/White Walls Gallery last year.  Some of the pieces were taken down or painted over and a few were covered in graffiti.  This is the only one that I have seen that was actually modified to potentially change the meaning.

Ferrari or Lens?

This 1200mm f/5.6L lens is available used at B&H right now.  This is one of the rarest lenses ever made by any manufacturer, if not the rarest.  It may also claim the title of the most expensive ever made as it's used asking price is no less than $120,000.00!  They were made to order, by hand.  It took 18 months from the time the order was placed until the lens was delivered.  This lens was available between 1993-2005 and only a dozen or so were ever made.

Car Repairs

Over the years we have all taken a stab at fixing various things on our cars.  Sometimes we have even taken shortcuts, most of the time hoping no one notices.  I saw this on a company truck for a small plumbing company in SF.

Happy Birthday!

I can't believe my son is 12 years old!  One year from being a teenager, four years from driving, and only six years from being an adult.  Life goes by so fast after you've hit all the milestones.  I can remember when each year dragged by and went on forever and now it flies by without hardly a notice.  I try to remind him every chance I get to not rush it and enjoy every part of growing up.  I know I enjoy being a part of him growing up.  Watching him.  I know he's enjoying it because he always has a smile.

I didn't make it to the snow once last year.  It was nice to return, especially just to go sledding.  No lines, no lift tickets, just sledding and snowball fights.  Happy New Year!
